Anurag Kashyap to Headline Unconventional Tamil Thriller 'Unkill_123'

In November 2025, actor-filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is preparing to headline the Tamil film 'Unkill_123', directed by Sam Anton. This will mark Kashyap's first lead role in Tamil cinema.

According to the director, the idea for the film came to him after he wrapped up his Telugu project 'Buddy' earlier this year. Wanting to experiment with a "wilder, quirkier, and different" concept, Sam Anton developed a script that revolves around a person's online identity and the expectations formed about them on social media.

"Today, everything is tied to one's online identity and life is driven by social media profiles. The number of likes, shares, and comments becomes a measure of respect," the director explains. However, the film defies straightforward genre labels, as Sam Anton describes it as a "serial-killer comedy" - a unique blend of dark humor and social commentary.

Anurag Kashyap, who immediately loved the script, felt the film has a national appeal as it touches on issues relevant to various states. The director also shares that Sangitha Krish will play Kashyap's wife in the film, which is planned for release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
