Ant & Dec: Brits Hosting Was Too Drunken!
27 Feb
Summary
- Ant and Dec refuse to host the Brit Awards again due to drunken crowds.
- They found wrangling tipsy celebrities challenging for live TV.
- Interview commitments from artists were often unreliable.

Ant and Dec will not be returning to host the Brit Awards, with the duo stating they will "never" take on the role again. Having hosted the music ceremony three times, most recently in 2015 and 2016, they found the experience of managing rowdy, inebriated crowds too difficult for live television.
Speaking on their podcast, the Britain's Got Talent hosts explained that while they support the Brit Awards' contribution to British music, the hosting gig presents unique challenges. Ant McPartlin highlighted that the audience's primary goal is often to "get drunk and have a good time," making it hard to "wrangle" them while simultaneously presenting a show.
Furthermore, the presenters faced issues with artist interview schedules. Bands and artists who initially agreed to pre-show interviews would frequently change their minds shortly before going live, adding another layer of unpredictability to the event. This year's ceremony is set to be hosted by Jack Whitehall.
