Annu Kapoor: Propaganda in films is eternal!

Veteran actor Annu Kapoor has commented on the ongoing debate regarding political narratives in films, asserting that propaganda in cinema is an enduring element, not a recent development.

Kapoor pointed to historical instances, such as the film 'Kissa Kursi Ka,' to illustrate how cinema has long intersected with political discourse and faced consequences.

Addressing the industry's power dynamics and the rise of 'outsiders,' Kapoor highlighted that many of Hindi cinema's biggest stars, including Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan, were not from industry families.

He further stated that while industry insiders may favor their own, ultimate success hinges on audience reception, as proven by the careers of numerous stars who achieved superstardom without familial ties.

Kapoor concluded that social media has amplified conversations about these dynamics but the fundamental system has not drastically changed.
