Anne Hathaway has addressed rampant speculation that she recently underwent cosmetic surgery, including a facelift. The actress clarified that a seemingly lifted eye appearance in a video posted shortly after the 2026 Academy Awards was achieved through two hidden braids near her temples, styled by Orlando Pita.

Hathaway explained that while her preference is to avoid commenting on such rumors, the online discussion became too loud to ignore. She expressed a slight uncertainty about whether posting the video was the right decision, but felt compelled to share her truth to counteract distracting speculation.

In a conversation for the summer 2026 issue of ELLE magazine, the 43-year-old emphasized that these are major medical decisions people were presuming she made. She reiterated that it was simply two braids and not a significant medical intervention, though she openly stated she might still get a facelift someday.
