Jennifer Aniston has reportedly exited Apple's dramedy series inspired by Jennette McCurdy's bestselling memoir, "I'm Glad My Mom Died." The departure is attributed to scheduling conflicts, according to sources familiar with the project. Aniston was set to play the narcissistic mother of an 18-year-old actress, a character whose identity is deeply intertwined with her daughter's success.
Aniston was also attached as an executive producer via her Echo Films company when Apple ordered the 10-episode series in 2025. She was the sole cast member publicly announced for the project, which centers on the codependent relationship between a young performer and her controlling mother.
The series, co-written and executive produced by McCurdy and Ari Katcher, has faced other developmental hurdles. Filmmaker Jason Reitman reportedly left the project in August 2025 due to creative disagreements with McCurdy regarding the show's tone, favoring a more comedic approach.
