Music composer Anirudh Ravichander recently shared insights into crafting the background score for Mohanlal's guest appearance in the film 'Jailer.' He explained that the music was developed after character finalization, aligning with their personalities and settings.
Ravichander described Mohanlal's character, Mathew, as a Bombay-based don involved in the gold business. This distinct profile influenced the musical approach, with Anirudh aiming for a stylish score akin to Pablo's to reflect Mathew's presence. He also noted that the two major guest roles in 'Jailer' necessitated specially designed background music.
The composer also discussed the score for Shivarajkumar's character, which was rooted in his Mangaluru setting. Anirudh expressed satisfaction that both scores resonated with audiences. Mohanlal's cameo was a highlight for many viewers, particularly in Kerala.
Looking ahead, the 'Jailer' franchise is set to continue with 'Jailer 2,' scheduled for release on October 15, 2026. The sequel is expected to feature returning actors alongside new additions, including Vijay Sethupathi and Hrithik Roshan in special roles.
