Paramount Animation is bringing a unique animated family horror-comedy to the screen, with a release date set for Friday, October 13, 2028. This project, inspired by Yehudi Mercado's indie comic, is helmed by director Dan Trachtenberg.
The film's narrative centers on a family vacation that transforms into a frightening ordeal. The plot unfolds when the seemingly fun Uncle Freddy mistakenly acquires the powers of the Boogeyman after accidentally killing him.
Described as a PG-rated horror offering, the movie aims to deliver both 'scares and laughs to the whole family.' Dan Trachtenberg, known for '10 Cloverfield Lane,' is producing the animated feature alongside his frequent collaborator Ben Rosenblatt. This animated endeavor follows Trachtenberg's recent three-year producing and directing deal with Paramount Pictures.
