Endangered Animals Embark on Global Snack Quest

The animated feature "On the Edge" has unveiled its star-studded voice cast, featuring Daryl McCormack and Mia McKenna-Bruce, alongside Chris O'Dowd and Mark Rylance. Directed by Octavio Rodriguez, known for his work on "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," the film follows a motley crew of endangered animals on a worldwide quest. Donnie, a Cuban solenodon with a penchant for adventure, leads the charge, joined by characters like Vy the Aye-Aye and Kiki the Kakapo parrot.

The mission for Donnie and his friends is to avoid extinction and seek survival, freedom, and plenty of snacks. Their journey involves discovering how a superstar panda maintained his survival through fame. Along the way, they encounter the impact of human actions on the environment, experiencing the world from a unique animal perspective.

"On the Edge" was originated by Studio BlueGreen, a not-for-profit studio focused on conservation. Producer Beth Blood emphasized that the film's creation prioritizes impact over personal profit, aiming to use animation's emotive power to deepen our connection with nature. Director Rodriguez was drawn to the project for its focus on unheard voices and its message for families and generations.
