Johar shared his sentiments via an Instagram story, congratulating the entire cast and Prime Video for the "Bharpoor" film.
Set in Madhya Pradesh, 'Subedaar' centers on Arjun Maurya, a retired soldier facing the complexities of civilian life and strained family relationships. Anil Kapoor leads the ensemble cast, which also includes Radhikka Madan, Saurabh Shukla, and Mona Singh, among others.
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap had previously lauded the film, lamenting that it deserved a theatrical release. He highlighted director Suresh Triveni's immersive portrayal of Bundelkhand's socio-cultural landscape, noting its depiction of patriarchy and societal complexities.
