16 May
Summary
- Garcia brought his family to a premiere of an R-rated film.
- He rejected comparisons between his film and Pulp Fiction.
- His new film 'Diamond' will screen out of competition.

In 1995, actor Andy Garcia attended the Cannes Film Festival with his family for the premiere of "Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead." The New York Daily News noted his family's presence at the screening of the R-rated crime film.
Directed by Gary Fleder, the movie featured Garcia as a former hitman. Critics, including THR's Michael Rechtshaffen, observed similarities to Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction." Garcia, however, rejected these comparisons, stating that his film was a "tragic poem" where audiences cared about the characters, unlike the darkly comedic "Pulp Fiction."
This year, Garcia is returning to Cannes with his new feature film, "Diamond." The movie will be screened out of competition. Garcia directed "Diamond" and also stars in it alongside Vicky Krieps, Brendan Fraser, Bill Murray, and Dustin Hoffman.
