A docuseries delving into the life of tennis icon Andre Agassi is in development, directed by Chris Smith and greenlit by Apple. Library Films, which produced Netflix's 'Tiger King', will produce the project. This series aims to offer an in-depth look at Agassi's career and personal journey.
Agassi, widely regarded as one of the greatest players of his era, achieved a Career Grand Slam and a Career Golden Slam, winning 60 ATP Tour singles titles. His 2009 memoir, 'Open', revealed a difficult childhood and intense pressure from his father, leading him to a renowned tennis academy at age 13.
In 'Open', Agassi also disclosed his use of crystal meth during a career slump in the mid-1990s, a period that coincided with his divorce from Brooke Shields. Despite these challenges, he made a significant comeback, notably winning the French Open and another U.S. Open, before retiring in 2006.
