- Lopez's expertise and rigor in dance helped Luna overcome his initial struggles with the dance routines

In a departure from his usual intense dramatic roles, Andor star Diego Luna is set to showcase his dance skills in the upcoming film Kiss of the Spider Woman. Luna plays the dual roles of political prisoner Valentin Arregui and Armando, a fictional movie character who is a classic Hollywood-style song-and-dance man.
Portraying the latter character proved to be a significant challenge for Luna, who admits he is "not a dancer" and needed "many tequilas to dance." To prepare, he worked closely with choreographer Sergio Trujillo, who encouraged Luna to be patient and focus on bringing layers to the performance.
The breakthrough came when Luna started working with Jennifer Lopez, who was also part of the film's cast. Lopez, known for her expertise in hip-hop and contemporary dance, brought her rigor and experience to the classic Broadway-style routines. "She was a great leader because she has so much rigor," Luna says. "It was fascinating to see how hard she works, and then how easy she makes it look."
With Lopez's guidance, Luna was able to overcome his initial struggles and anxieties about the dance sequences. "Suddenly, when she came in, Sergio said to me, 'I know you are worried, and you should be, but whatever you don't get right, she's going to make it look right. It's going to look great, because she's bringing that other thing that you are missing.'"
