Ananya Panday Revives Rani Mukerji's Iconic Lehenga

Ananya Panday recently channeled Bollywood icon Rani Mukerji by recreating a memorable silver lehenga. The original, worn by Mukerji in the 2001 film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, was reimagined by Panday for Manish Malhotra's Diwali party held on November 5th in Mumbai.

Panday's stylist shared a preview of the inspiration on social media, confirming the direct nod to Mukerji's "Say Shava Shava" look. The revamped outfit, designed by Manish Malhotra himself, featured a dazzling sequined bralette top, a figure-hugging mermaid skirt, and a delicate organza dupatta.

This modern interpretation maintained the nostalgic Y2K glamour with elements like spaghetti straps and metallic shine. However, it adopted a sharper silhouette with a deep plunging neckline on the bralette and a low-waist skirt, embodying contemporary fashion trends while celebrating a classic film costume.
