Analogue is bringing back the 16-bit console era with updated versions of the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. The Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ are now available for pre-order at $220 each, with shipping expected to commence in December.
These new consoles utilize FPGA technology, recreating original hardware for lag-free gaming on modern displays. A significant enhancement is the inclusion of built-in Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless capabilities, allowing for easy connection of wireless gamepads.
Further improvements include USB-C power, a USB-A port for CRT connections or charging, an SD card slot, a new operating system, and a redesigned case. Players can now swap game cartridges without needing to power down the system.
The consoles are region-free and capable of playing over 2,200 games. Video output is capped at 1080p, with no 4K support available. Pre-orders open on October 19th at 8 AM PT.
