A deeply personal Valentine's Day card, penned by the late singer Amy Winehouse to her husband Blake Fielder-Civil while he was incarcerated, is scheduled for auction. This significant piece of memorabilia will be offered for sale in Surrey, approximately 18 years after it was sent.
Fielder-Civil received the card in 2008, during a 27-month prison sentence for attacking a pub landlord and perverting the course of justice. At the time of this heartfelt message, Winehouse had already initiated divorce proceedings from Fielder-Civil and was reportedly vacationing in the Caribbean with a new boyfriend.
The handwritten card, featuring a poetic expression of love and sorrow, is part of a larger collection of rock music memorabilia up for auction on August 26. Experts estimate the item could achieve a sale price of up to £4,000.
Winehouse, who tragically passed away in 2011 at the age of 27 due to accidental alcohol poisoning, wrote in the card, "My husband. my Blake, virtue Is violent and violets are blue, blue-bruised is my heart, since its beating for you." She concluded the note with "I love you, handsome. 4 years your Amy x."
