Amy Schumer Files for Divorce After 7 Years

Comedian Amy Schumer has formally filed for divorce from her husband, Chris Fischer, after seven years of marriage. The couple, who tied the knot in 2018, share a six-year-old son, Gene. Schumer officially submitted her divorce petition in early January, following a December announcement of their 'difficult decision' to split.

Schumer's recent appearance on the set of a mystery project in New York City included a prop book and a 1980s-style tracksuit, emphasizing her 50lbs weight loss. She has openly discussed using injectables for her slimmed-down figure, noting benefits like increased energy and improved skin, and has humorously linked her weight loss to wanting 'more out of life.'

Rumors of marital strain intensified earlier this year when Schumer listed two properties for sale: a Brooklyn home and a New Orleans residence. While Schumer previously stated her weight loss was unrelated to the divorce, sources close to the couple suggested changes in Schumer's demeanor and lifestyle post-weight loss may have contributed to the separation.

Fischer, a chef and farmer, was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder shortly after their wedding. Schumer has spoken candidly about how his diagnosis, characterized by brutal honesty, has been both a source of love and a point of contention in their relationship. Despite these challenges, they had previously maintained a prenup agreement, which Schumer had joked about.
