Strictly Star Amy Dowden Conquers Cancer & Hunters

Professional dancer Amy Dowden has found renewed confidence following her victory on Celebrity Hunted, an experience that she stated has helped her believe she can "achieve anything" after her cancer battle. The 36-year-old, a familiar face from Strictly Come Dancing, achieved a joint win in the latest series alongside Strictly's Carlos Gu. This historic achievement marked the first time in the show's history that two pairs, including actor Brian Conley and his daughter Lucy, successfully evaded capture.

The intense finale saw Dowden and her co-winners make a narrow escape from hunters on a plane departing from a beach in north Wales. Dowden, who was diagnosed with grade three breast cancer in May 2023 at the age of 32, has been open about her treatment, including a mastectomy, chemotherapy, and fertility treatments. Her return to the Strictly ballroom floor in 2025 and her candor about her experiences, including early menopause due to treatment, were highlighted in her documentary, 'Strictly Amy: Cancer And Me'.
