Amy Dowden, a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing, has provided a positive update on her health following a second mastectomy performed in late 2025. She revealed in February 2026 that she has healed remarkably well and has already returned to the gym, engaging in activities like Pilates and weightlifting.

Dowden expressed a strong determination to become fitter and stronger, emphasizing that she does not want her illness to define her or halt her passion for dancing. She admitted to experiencing a loss of confidence in 2023 and 2024, even considering giving up dancing, with the tour serving as a crucial support.

Carlos Gu, a fellow professional dancer, played a supportive role, encouraging Amy to continue dancing. He acknowledged that she could have stepped away from the profession if she had remained in a negative state. While the tour helped rebuild her confidence, Amy confessed that the emotional impact of her illness took longer to process, particularly during 2024.
