Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan's significant real estate ventures in Ayodhya began with an extraordinary late-night call. In 2023, while Abhinandan Lodha was in Australia, he received a personal call from Bachchan at 3 AM expressing a desire to invest in Ayodhya.
Bachchan, a native of Uttar Pradesh, insisted on proceeding with the purchase like any other buyer. Within a day of their discussion, Bachchan transferred Rs 15 crore for 15,000 sq ft of land, becoming a pioneer among celebrities investing in the city before the Ram Mandir consecration.
Since his initial investment in The Sarayu project, Bachchan has further expanded his Ayodhya portfolio. He acquired an additional 54,454 sq ft parcel and, in March 2026, purchased 2.67 acres for approximately Rs 35 crore, solidifying his presence in the temple city.
