Amitabh Bachchan to build memorial in Ayodhya

Amitabh Bachchan is set to build a memorial dharamshala in Ayodhya, dedicating it to his late father, the renowned poet Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan. An application for the building's layout has been submitted to the Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA). The planned structure, set to contain over 20 rooms, is being built on land Bachchan acquired for around Rs 15 crore.
The ADA has issued a public notice, inviting objections to the submitted layout within a 15-day period. Following this, official approval is expected, with construction likely to commence in October. ADA Vice Chairman Anurag Jain highlighted that various prominent figures are contributing to Ayodhya's development and confirmed the dharamshala proposal is undergoing due process for devotees' benefit.
Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan was a celebrated Hindi poet, known for his 1935 poem Madhushala and Padma Bhushan honor. His wife, Teji Bachchan, was an activist and performer. Amitabh Bachchan is currently hosting 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 18' and has upcoming film releases.
