Music composer Amit Trivedi recently shared the deeply personal origin of the acclaimed song 'Zinda' from the 2013 film Lootera. He disclosed that the poignant track, featuring Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha, was born from a period of personal distress and was written for himself rather than the movie.
Trivedi recounted sitting at the harmonium during a challenging personal phase and spontaneously composing the melody and lyrics for 'Mujhe Chod Do, Mere Haal Pe, Zinda Hoon Yaar, Kaafi Hain'. He realized the song's potential for Lootera's climax, though it was not originally commissioned for the film.
Separately, Trivedi also touched upon his experiences working on 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu,' a film produced by Karan Johar. He described facing considerable creative friction, with songs being rejected by producers, which was a stark contrast to his earlier smoother projects like 'Wake Up Sid.'
