- Anurag Kashyap's script evolved significantly post-song composition.

Amit Trivedi shared in an interview that the film Dev D, directed by Anurag Kashyap, faced an initial production halt. Producer Ronnie Screwvala reportedly had reservations about the project, causing it to be put on hold.
Trivedi had composed approximately 12 to 15 songs for Dev D, a task that took him six months alongside his advertising work. He expressed significant nervousness presenting these songs to Kashyap, fearing it would be the only film he ever worked on.
Despite the producer's initial hesitations, Kashyap and Vikas Bahl were impressed by Trivedi's compositions. Following the song presentations, Kashyap made script adjustments and reimagined elements of Dev D, highlighting the collaborative impact of Trivedi's music.
While Dev D was the first film for which Trivedi composed music, it was eventually released eight months after Aamir. Aamir, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and starring Rajeev Khandelwal, marked Trivedi's official debut as a film composer.
