Amira Virgil, a Brooklyn-based content creator, established Noir Network in 2021 to foster a supportive online environment for Black female creators.

This platform quickly demonstrated its value, facilitating over $50,000 in brand deals for its members within its initial six months. Virgil emphasized the critical role of community in providing support, learning opportunities, and collaborations.

Virgil, also known as Xmiramira, has been a consistent advocate for inclusion in the gaming community. Her other ventures include founding The Black Simmer, a community for Black Sims players, and developing the Melanin Pack for The Sims 4.

She also advises various gaming publishers. Her dedication to shaping digital spaces was recognized in 2025 when she was featured on Mashable's top creator list.

Virgil shared insights into her essential content creation gear. Key items include a mirrorless camera for its quality and OBS compatibility, a Shure SM7B microphone for superior audio, and a Sabrent docking station for file management.
