American Dad! Returns Home to Fox After 10 Years

After an eight-year initial run on Fox and a subsequent decade on TBS, "American Dad!" has returned to its original home network. Co-creator Matt Weitzman expressed astonishment at the show's homecoming, noting Fox offers a larger platform. This surprising renewal includes a commitment for four additional seasons, guaranteeing the series will broadcast well past its 400th episode. The Season 22 premiere aired on Sunday, marking its return.

Weitzman highlighted that while the core creative team remains largely intact, slight adjustments to content are expected due to increased sensitivity in television. He explained that certain elements, like visible cigarettes or ashtrays, are no longer permissible. Despite these changes, the show aims to maintain its established character and essence, evolving from a political commentary to a more family-oriented and "bigger and weirder" format.
