American Creator Exposes Alleged Mistreatment on 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' Set

Nearly two decades after its release, the Bollywood film 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' is back in the spotlight due to a viral video by an American content creator. In the clip, the woman, Ash Cantley, claims she once worked on the film starring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Saif Ali Khan, and had a nightmarish experience.

Cantley, known for her Talk Pop To Me series, says she was a set designer on the film and spent most of her time "redesigning this diner, inch by inch." However, she alleges the diner was "abandoned" and filled with "so much filth," calling it "the worst job" of her life. Cantley also claims she was "severely underpaid," earning only $75 per day for 12 to 17-hour shifts, while the men on set allegedly made $125.

Despite her negative experience, Cantley acknowledges that poor pay and long hours were common in the industry at the time. She has since clarified that she has "no proof" of actually working on the film, beyond her IMDb listing. Nonetheless, her video has sparked a discussion about the working conditions on Bollywood sets and the broader issues of pay parity in the entertainment industry.
