Amazon Prime Video's Top 10: What's Missing?
4 Jun
Summary
- Amazon Prime Video launched its own weekly top 10 lists.
- Lists include films and series, but lack viewership data.
- Netflix and other streamers are also hesitant with data.

Amazon Prime Video has officially launched its own weekly Top 10 lists, featuring its most-watched original films and series. The inaugural lists, covering May 25-31, highlighted "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: Ghost War" as the top film and "Off Campus" as the leading series.
Despite boasting over 200 million Prime members, Amazon has opted not to release specific viewership numbers for these titles. This approach mirrors the general industry trend where many streaming services, including HBO Max and Peacock, also keep viewership data close to the vest, often making only general claims of success.
While Netflix also publishes weekly lists, it provides more detailed viewership data. However, even Netflix's lists are curated to emphasize successes and downplay underperformers. Amazon's new lists are also limited to original content, excluding licensed titles that could also be popular among viewers.
