Amazon MGM Studios has acquired a new feature film described as a four-quadrant coming-of-age comedy set within the world of clowns. The project is being developed by brothers Aaron and Will Eisenberg, who are known for their original comedic work.
This acquisition represents the Eisenbergs' second original feature with Amazon MGM and Counterbalance Entertainment. Their previous collaboration included the R-rated family vacation spec, Sporkinfeesten. The creative team behind Counterbalance Entertainment, including Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald, are also producing.
The Eisenberg brothers have a track record of successful comedy projects, including the horror comedy Cursed Friends and the college admissions satire Big Envelopes. Counterbalance Entertainment, known for the hit series Cobra Kai and the Harold & Kumar franchise, is also producing other upcoming projects like 72 Hours for Netflix and a reimagining of Knight Rider.
