Seyfried Becomes 'Bona Fide Musician' Learning Joni Mitchell

Amanda Seyfried recently revealed her profound connection to music, having learned to play Joni Mitchell's iconic 1971 album, "Blue," in its entirety. This intensive musical endeavor, which spanned guitar, dulcimer, and piano, was part of her preparation for a planned biopic about Mitchell. Seyfried described the moment she mastered the final song as deeply emotional, stating she "felt like a bona fide musician."

During her preparation, Seyfried had the opportunity to meet Joni Mitchell at her Los Angeles home, where they shared stories and listened to "Blue." Seyfried recalled Mitchell's observation that the album was "sparse" and Seyfried's own agreement that it was "perfect."

Although the biopic Seyfried was attached to has been shelved, the actress previously showcased her musical skills by performing "California" on the dulcimer on "The Tonight Show." Meanwhile, director Cameron Crowe is developing another project featuring Meryl Streep as a later-life Joni Mitchell.
