Summary
- Alison Hammond's father was a bodyguard for Muhammad Ali.
- The TV presenter and her siblings were named after the boxer.
- Her father imported trucks between the UK and the Caribbean.

Television presenter Alison Hammond shared a surprising personal revelation on The Jonathan Ross Show, disclosing that she was named in honor of the iconic boxer Muhammad Ali. Hammond explained that her father, Clifford Hammond, worked as a bodyguard for the legendary athlete.
This deep admiration for Ali led Clifford Hammond to name his three children – Alison, her sister Alicia, and brother Ali – after the boxer. Clifford, who also imported trucks between the UK and the Caribbean, was described as having a formidable presence.
Hammond previously recounted meeting Ali as a child, though she recalled being too young to appreciate the encounter. Her father, Clifford, passed away in June 2020 after a battle with cancer in Jamaica. Her mother, Maria, had died five months earlier.
Additionally, Hammond addressed rumors about joining Celebrity Traitors, stating she could not participate due to her commitments to Bake Off, which would be filming concurrently.
