Alice and Sheryl Cooper, celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, renewed their vows on Saturday, March 21, 2026. The iconic couple chose the Wrigley Mansion in Phoenix for the ceremony, overlooking Camelback Mountain. Alice, aged 78, and Sheryl, 69, reaffirmed their commitment in front of 220 guests.
Their family, spanning four generations, attended the special occasion. Sheryl's 92-year-old father officiated, reprising his role from their original 1976 wedding. The ceremony honored their enduring love, which has overcome significant hurdles throughout their decades together.
The couple's journey included Alice's past battle with alcohol addiction in the late 1970s, leading to a period where Sheryl filed for divorce in 1983. However, they reconciled, and Alice has remained sober since.
Custom-designed rings, gifted by a family friend, were exchanged. These rings were crafted with consideration for their lifestyles, incorporating Alice's need to hold a microphone and his passion for golf.
Alice and Sheryl first met in 1975 when Sheryl auditioned for his tour. They married less than a year later in Acapulco, Mexico. They have three children: Calico, Sonora, and Dashiell, along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
