Grandparents Fight for Babysitting Duty!

Veteran actor Soni Razdan believes the current generation is excelling at parenting, a sentiment she expressed while praising Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's approach to raising their daughter, Raha. Razdan shared that she and Ranbir's mother, Neetu Kapoor, often find themselves competing for babysitting duties, as the young parents are so dedicated to their child.

"We have to literally fight to babysit," Razdan remarked, humorously noting that she and Neetu Kapoor are constantly trying to get more time with Raha because Alia and Ranbir are so involved. She observed that this hands-on parenting style is a marked improvement over previous generations.

However, Razdan also pointed out the contrasting reality in India, where traditional expectations often leave mothers solely responsible for childcare. She feels that societal norms have led to an acceptance of this imbalance.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor welcomed Raha in November 2022 and have been protective of her privacy. Bhatt has previously described Kapoor as a "sensible" and "hands-on" father, noting his deep expressiveness and childlike joy when interacting with their daughter.

Bhatt herself has sought parenting advice, with spiritual leader Sadhguru advising her, "A worried parent is not a good parent." Bhatt responded by acknowledging the inherent worry in parenthood.
