Ali Fazal: Beyond Mirzapur's Men

Actor Ali Fazal continues to challenge himself by avoiding repetitive roles. He is set to reprise his role as Guddu Pandit in "Mirzapur: The Movie," a cinematic continuation of the popular crime drama series. Fazal notes this is a novel attempt for India, comparing it to "Peaky Blinders."

However, the film delves into Guddu's earlier life, requiring Fazal to shed accumulated character layers. He also stars as Sub-Inspector Jayprakash in "Raakh," a Prime Video thriller based on a real Indian investigation. This project aligned due to scheduling changes with "Mirzapur."

Fazal's career spans Indian cinema, independent films, and Hollywood. Through his production banner, Pushing Buttons Studios, co-founded with Richa Chadha, he supports emerging talent and advocates for better industry infrastructure, especially for documentaries.

Upcoming projects include a cameo in "Batwara" and a segment in Netflix's "Lust Stories." He is also slated for an English-language corporate drama in London early next year. Fazal emphasizes the need for modernizing Indian production contracts and fostering mutual industry support.
