In 2023, acclaimed director Rory Kennedy reached out to Alec Baldwin about making a documentary chronicling the aftermath of the tragic "Rust" shooting incident. Initially hesitant, Baldwin eventually agreed to give Kennedy full access to his life before, during, and after his trial.

The resulting 111-minute documentary, "The Trial of Alec Baldwin," premiered at the DOC NYC film festival on November 10, 2025.
