Actor Alec Baldwin shared a humorous anecdote where his children failed to recognize him in his role as Adam Maitland from the 1988 classic 'Beetlejuice.' He recounted this at the Hamptons International Film Festival, joking about how his kids were "so mean" when they watched the film together.
Baldwin, who has seven children with Hilaria Baldwin and one daughter from a previous marriage, described telling his younger children that the ghostly character was him when he was younger, leaner, and had dark hair.
In 2023, the Baldwin family paid tribute to the film with a 'Beetlejuice'-themed Halloween. His wife, Hilaria, shared photos on Instagram of their children dressed as various characters, including Adam Maitland, Beetlejuice, and Lydia Deetz.
Regarding the upcoming sequel, 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,' director Tim Burton confirmed that Baldwin and co-star Geena Davis would not be returning. Burton stated he wanted to focus on a new story, diverging from the original characters' narrative arc, which concluded with their deaths in the 1988 film.
