The Alban Arena has completed a substantial renovation costing £277,000, significantly enhancing its facilities. The project, which began in September 2025, saw all 855 existing seats replaced with new red velvet seating. This replacement has successfully increased the venue's total capacity to 902.
Further improvements include the addition of more wheelchair spaces and new LED aisle lighting, making the auditorium more accessible for all visitors. A separate £50,000 investment was allocated to refurbish the venue's toilets, featuring new flooring, lighting, and mirrors.
Performers will also benefit from a refurbished green room, part of the overall upgrade package. The Alban Arena, originally opened in 1968, hosts over 250 shows annually, including music, theatre, and comedy performances.
