According to reports, Taylor ran into the street to stop Ritchson's motorcycle, causing Ritchson and his two children, who were on mini-bikes, to crash.

Taylor allegedly became aggressive, pushing Ritchson to the ground after the initial fall. This reportedly led Ritchson to retaliate physically. The neighbor had accused Ritchson of riding his motorcycle at high speeds for two consecutive days, claiming it was dangerous behavior that initiated the confrontation. Police were called to the scene, and Ritchson reportedly cooperated fully; no arrests were made.
