Alan Cumming's Club: A Haven of Kindness & Naughtiness

Emmy winner Alan Cumming is set to launch a new six-part docuseries, "Club Cumming," on WOW Presents Plus. The series offers an intimate look into his East Village club, which opened in 2017 and has evolved into a vital community hub.

Cumming intentionally steered clear of conventional reality television tropes, rejecting the idea of focusing on interpersonal drama or romantic entanglements. Instead, the show highlights the authentic experiences of its diverse staff and performers, including cabaret singer Daphne Always and drag performer Michelle Wynters.

A key focus of "Club Cumming" is to showcase and celebrate queer talent, with a particular emphasis on ensuring trans representation to counteract erasure in popular culture. Cumming sees the club as a manifestation of his artistic vision, a created world of kindness, diversity, and joy.

The docuseries aims to capture the essence of the club as a place for gathering, dancing, and resistance, especially for the queer community. Cumming intends to present the real lives and challenges of the young queer individuals who work and perform at the venue.
