Cumming: Reprising Nightcrawler Was a 'Healing' Experience

Alan Cumming is reprising his role as Nightcrawler in the forthcoming film 'Avengers: Doomsday'. This marks a significant return for the actor, over two decades after his initial portrayal in 'X2: X-Men United'. Cumming shared that revisiting the character was a surprisingly fulfilling experience, one he never anticipated.

Speaking about the production, Cumming mentioned the unique challenge of filming as part of a large ensemble, often working independently. He described the set as a 'superhero soup,' highlighting that many of his scenes were shot alone.

Despite the solitary nature of his filming, Cumming found the experience to be deeply positive. He referred to the return as a "healing" experience and expressed his enjoyment in playing the character again at age 60, even performing stunts. He also commended the filmmakers for ensuring all cast and crew felt valued.

Cumming noted that filming was completed quickly to accommodate his schedule, particularly his commitments to 'The Traitors'. The film, slated for release on December 18, features a star-studded cast including Anthony Mackie and Paul Rudd.
