Al Roker Misses Andrew Scott; Actor Stars in WWII Weather Film

Co-anchor Al Roker expressed disappointment over missing actor Andrew Scott's visit on Tuesday, May 26, while Roker was on an assignment. Scott, 49, appeared to discuss his upcoming film, "Pressure," in which he portrays meteorologist James Stagg. The movie chronicles Stagg's use of weather predictions in the 72 hours leading up to the D-Day invasion during World War II.

The "Today" meteorologists lauded the film for emphasizing their profession's significance. Dylan Dreyer shared with Scott that Al Roker had arranged a special screening of "Pressure" for the NBC weather unit and prepared a video message. In the video, Roker wished Scott well and inquired about his favorite weather conditions.

Scott responded warmly to Roker's message, stating he enjoys "four seasons in one day" as an Irishman but also appreciates sunshine. Meanwhile, Roker, who was visiting Universal Orlando for a shoot, posted on Instagram about his enjoyment of the film, sharing a photo of the NBC weather team at the screening. He captioned the post about the "WWII drama @pressuremovie about the meteorologists responsible for the most important forecast in history: weather for the #dday landing."

Roker is scheduled to broadcast live from Universal Orlando on Wednesday, May 27. Having been with the "Today" show for over 30 years, starting as a meteorologist before becoming a co-anchor, Roker remains enthusiastic about his work and has expressed no immediate plans for retirement.
