Akshay Kumar, who is also a co-producer on the project, has reportedly commanded an upfront fee of Rs 18 crore and holds a substantial 70% share of the film's profits, with Ektaa Kapoor managing the remaining 30%.
The film boasts an ensemble cast, with Tabu earning an estimated Rs 2 crore, Wamiqa Gabbi receiving Rs 1 crore, and Rajpal Yadav taking home approximately Rs 75-80 lakh. The production is said to have a budget of Rs 120 crore.
'Bhooth Bangla' promises a blend of Priyadarshan's signature slapstick comedy and elements of the popular horror-comedy genre. The trailer hints at a haunted palace setting with paranormal activities, centered around a curse and a quest for marriage. The film was initially slated for a May 15 release but has been advanced to April 17. The last project shared by Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan was 'Khatta Meetha' in 2010.
