Akshay Kumar Leads Anees Bazmee's Next Family Comedy for 2026

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is gearing up for an exciting slate of releases in the coming years. As of October 2025, the actor is lining up an impressive set of films for 2026-2027, including a reunion with acclaimed director Anees Bazmee.

Akshay is set to lead Bazmee's next family comedy, which is currently in the pre-production phase. The untitled project will be produced by renowned Telugu producer Dil Raju under his banner, Sri Venkateswara Creations. Filming is expected to begin in February 2026, with the casting for the female lead and other key roles still underway.

This will mark the fourth collaboration between Akshay and Bazmee, following their past hits like 'Welcome' (2007), 'Singh Is Kinng' (2008), and 'Thank You' (2011). Staying true to Bazmee's signature style, the new film promises to deliver wholesome, family-friendly entertainment.

Alongside this upcoming comedy, Akshay has an impressive lineup of other projects in the works. He is reuniting with director Priyadarshan for three upcoming films - 'Bhooth Bangla', 'Haiwaan', and the much-anticipated 'Hera Pheri 3' - with the first two expected to arrive next year. The actor is also gearing up for 'Welcome To The Jungle', further showcasing his versatility across genres.
