Akhanda 2 Targets Massive 40+ Crore Opening at Indian Box Office
25 Oct
Summary
- Akhanda 2 scheduled for December 2025 release
- Sequel to 2021 hit Akhanda, expected to draw huge crowds
- Nandamuri Balakrishna's star power could drive 40+ crore opening day

As of October 25th, 2025, the highly anticipated Tollywood sequel Akhanda 2 is gearing up for a grand release in December. The film, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, is the follow-up to the 2021 hit Akhanda, which was a major commercial success.
Akhanda 2 was initially scheduled to release ahead of the Dussehra festivities, but the makers have now confirmed a December 5th, 2025 release date. This date was previously locked by Prabhas' The Raja Saab, but with that film now pushed to 2026, the Akhanda sequel has grabbed the lucrative window.
Given the immense popularity of the first Akhanda film, the hype surrounding the sequel is massive, especially in the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Balakrishna, who is a huge crowd-puller among the masses, is expected to drive huge opening day numbers for Akhanda 2, particularly in the B and C centers.
Industry experts predict that the film could comfortably cross the 40 crore mark on its opening day at the Indian box office. This would not only be Balakrishna's biggest opener yet, but it could also potentially topple Pawan Kalyan's Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which had a 47.5 crore opening in 2025. If everything goes as planned, Akhanda 2 could emerge as the third-biggest Tollywood opener of the year, behind only OG (84.75 crores) and Game Changer (54 crores).
