Akanksha Chamola has firmly addressed speculation that her divorce announcement from husband Gaurav Khanna was intended to boost publicity for the reality show Lock Upp 2. Chamola, who revealed the separation during the show's premiere on June 27, 2026, has clarified that the decision is genuine and the legal process has been ongoing for a significant period.

Speaking ahead of the Lock Upp 2 finale, Chamola dismissed allegations that her statement was a publicity stunt for increased viewership. She expressed disbelief that any woman would use such a platform for TRPs, urging skeptics to consult her legal team. Chamola further revealed that legal formalities commenced prior to her entering the reality show and are now in the final stages, with only the signing of divorce papers remaining.
