Ajinkya Deo has opened up about his significant role as Vishwamitra in Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming Ramayana film, a project he considers to be of "Marvel-level scale." Initially, Deo auditioned for the part of King Dasharatha, expressing surprise at the prospect of playing Ranbir Kapoor's on-screen father. However, after his audition tape was reviewed, director Nitesh Tiwari offered him the role of Vishwamitra, a character Deo now recognizes as central to the epic.
Deo attributes his participation to his late father, veteran actor Ramesh Deo, who encouraged him to step out and audition. Reflecting on the film's production, Deo praised Tiwari's direction, noting the "silence, discipline, and absolute clarity" on set, despite the immense budget and visual effects involved. He also defended the production's secrecy, stating that such measures are a "respect" for a film of this magnitude and cautioning against treating online rumors as fact.
