Aina Clotet, a Spanish actress, screenwriter, and director, is set to debut her feature film, 'Viva' (Alive). The film will have its world premiere at the prestigious 65th Cannes Critics' Week, a sidebar event of the Cannes Film Festival. Clotet not only directed but also co-wrote and stars in the movie.
The narrative follows Nora, a 40-year-old woman who, after a brush with death, feels an intense need to experience life fully. She becomes involved in passionate relationships with two contrasting men, Tom and Max, who represent different facets of her inner turmoil.
Produced by Ikiru Films and Clotet's Funicular Films, 'Viva' features Naby Dakhli, Marc Soler, Willy Toledo, and Lloll Bertrán. The film's cinematography is by Nilo Zimmermann, with editing by Aina Calleja. Loco Films is managing international sales. The festival's sidebar is scheduled to run from May 13 to May 21.
