Wood Faces Fake Teeth Gag on SNL UK Debut
29 Apr
Summary
- Aimee Lou Wood hosted SNL UK after a teeth controversy.
- She previously called an SNL sketch 'mean and unfunny'.
- The SNL UK cast pranked her with fake moustaches, not teeth.
Aimee Lou Wood took on hosting duties for "SNL U.K." on May 2, aiming to put a recent "SNL" controversy behind her. Previously, a sketch on the original "Saturday Night Live" had parodied Wood's character from "White Lotus" using enlarged false teeth, a portrayal Wood described as "mean and unfunny." Despite initial criticism, the "SNL" comedian sent Wood flowers to reconcile, an act Wood shared on social media.
During her "SNL U.K." hosting appearance, Wood walked onto the set to find the British cast members covering their mouths. She humorously accused them of wearing fake teeth, recalling the previous incident. However, the cast revealed they were wearing large, fake moustaches, inspired by co-host Paddy Young's popular "tache."
