Seth Gabel has reprised his role as Jeffrey Dahmer in the sixth episode of American Horror Story: 13, marking his return to the anthology series after a ten-year absence. He appeared alongside Evan Peters, who reprised his character Mr. March from a previous season.
Gabel described his initial apprehension about sharing scenes with Peters, who portrayed a more realistic Dahmer in a separate series. Peters reportedly assured Gabel he was fully supportive, creating a collaborative environment for their characters' interactions.
During filming, Gabel incorporated unscripted moments, such as tasting a dead bird found by the roadside, a decision inspired by Dahmer's character. He also opted for an electric power drill as Dahmer's weapon, reflecting the serial killer's method of drilling holes in victims' heads.
American Horror Story: 13 airs new episodes on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FX and Hulu.
