Actor Blames Saif, Kareena for Agent Vinod Flop

Actor Lalit Parimoo, known for his role in Sriram Raghavan's 2012 film 'Agent Vinod', has made significant claims regarding the movie's production. Parimoo stated that excessive interference from lead actors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan negatively impacted the film's direction and writing. He expressed that the director's vision was compromised due to constant input from the stars, leading to a "mess" and ultimately affecting the movie's success.

Parimoo, who shares a long-standing friendship with director Sriram Raghavan, mentioned that while Raghavan acknowledged the interference, he did not elaborate on the specifics. The film, an action-spy thriller, was a costly production with a budget around Rs 60 crore. It was filmed across international locations and within India over an extended period, with reports indicating principal photography took nearly two years.

'Agent Vinod' was produced by Saif Ali Khan's production house, Illuminati Films. The movie featured a prominent supporting cast alongside Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Parimoo's comments suggest that the creative freedom of the director was curtailed, which he identifies as a critical flaw that can undermine a film's potential.
