The series delves into the complex world of deep cover agents, focusing on CIA operative Brandon Colby, codenamed "Martian." After six years undercover in Ethiopia, where he fell in love with Dr. Samia Fatima "Sami" Zahir, Colby returns to the UK.
Upon his return, Colby violates protocol by contacting Sami. Simultaneously, another operative, Piotr Rybak, codenamed "Coyote," faces capture by a Russian mercenary group after his cover is blown in Belarus. Operation Felix, a CIA mission to rescue Coyote, leads to the elimination of General Volchok.
However, Martian's former partner, Jim Richardson, is revealed as the mastermind behind recent events, betraying Martian. Following a hospital interrogation, Martian learns Sami has been arrested by Sudanese intelligence and is being tortured. To secure Sami's release and safety, Martian agrees to become an informant for Richardson, effectively turning him into a double agent against the U.S.
