Summary
- Hong Kong's Cappu Films acquired international sales for 'African Kung-Fu Nazis' trilogy.
- The cult martial arts films mix kung fu, gore, horror, and dark comedy.
- A crowdfunding campaign heavily supported the production of the sequel.

International sales for the cult martial arts splatter comedy series "African Kung-Fu Nazis" and its documentary have been secured by Hong Kong-based Cappu Films. This agreement, finalized with filmmaker Sebastian Stein of Humanmade Films, covers "African Kung-Fu Nazis I," "African Kung-Fu Nazis II," and the behind-the-scenes documentary, excluding already established territories.
The franchise, known for its blend of kung fu action, gore, horror, and dark comedy, draws inspiration from vintage Hong Kong martial arts cinema and Ghana's independent film scene. The first film featured Ghanaian fighters confronting caricatures of wartime figures, while the sequel pits heroes against a cyborg villain aiming for the presidency of Ghana.
The sequel, a Ghana-Japan-Germany production shot primarily in Ghana, was significantly funded through crowdfunding, with substantial backing from Japanese fans of the original film. This artistic venture, driven by a passion for independent horror and cult films, aims to bring these unique stories to a wider audience.
Cappu Films, which also operates from Beijing, plans to collaborate with Humanmade Films to promote the trilogy internationally. An art-led merchandise line based on the franchise's characters and aesthetic is also in development, further enhancing the global marketing strategy.
